She is making nearly $70K per year. That is not living lavishly but by any means should she be scraping by. Promise you she had made some piss poor financial decisions.

She's Canadian so between the CAD/USD exchange rate and their high taxes, she probably is scraping by

$34 an hour ain't shite anymore. It's not anywhere close to poverty, though. She needs to learn to live within her means.

Is he?

He said towns not cities.

I've been to a shite ton of small towns across the US. 68k is top 1% for most of them

Can you link me to where we settled on a part time worker makes $70k? She grumbled a lot but provided precious little information aboot any actual facts. She wanted to establish that she is some kind of victim.

She works part time?

Well no wonder.

A full time employee at $34/hr makes 70k pre tax.

If I quit my job and didn’t work, I make zero. And no one should have sympathy for me.

Hell when I worked part time I lived with my parents. She’s lucky she makes that much barely working.

Not really that much considering the cost of living now. That's essentially a supplemental income.

People on this board complain about Dave Ramsey. This is why Dave Ramsey exists. The average American is financially illiterate. 70K a year is not supplemental income.

Stopped listening when she said can’t get to work 3 days a week. No sympathy for a part timer. You got time and ability go get more work

Ftr I saw this the other day and she’s talking about Canadian dollars

That still converts to over $25/hr. Not as much as $34 US, but not scraping by as a single person with no kids.

Y'all are forgetting about her $480,000 in student loans she took out for that useless Sociology degree with a minor in Womens Studies. Mean old government won't pay that back for her.

I was just trying to estimate the basics, not sure why I got downvoted so much. There is no reason she should be struggling that bad with what she makes. It really comes down to management.

It's considerably better than not getting by. Do what you have to do.

10 seconds in, "I don't know, man". I don't know why, but I feel like I can see her as someone who used her vote for her frustration.

I'd also suggest she not wear a cutoff t-shirt to work. Holding herself to a high standard while not practicing high standards is a surefire way to cry alone in a car at your place of employment.
