What kind of money would it cost to install cabinets and washer/dryer nook similar to this. Don't need the crown molding or anything, just functional cabinets that don't look like crap.

Currently just an open room. Might require moving the hookups a little, or at least routing them behind the cabinets. Current location is too close to the door and most newer machines are too deep which would block the door. Hence moving it further away from the door to the center of the room.

Easily $5,000 for good cabinets

Yeah no. We just re did our kitchen and our cabinets were $13.5k and we have a pretty big kitchen, painted $1k upgrade, and some other upgrades. We got quotes from 4 different companies and they were all pretty similar.

Op, problem is it's a pretty small job so people are gonna want a higher % cut. I'd say $5k ish range, but I have no idea.

cabinets don't have to be nice like we have in the kitchen. Don't need granite countertops or anything. Hard do find pictures that aren't super over the top. We just want his much counter space and cabinet space. Actually one side won't even have cabinets down below...will put dog kennel there.

only 8'in the utility room. Again, not necessary to have the tall cabinets with molding, etc. Room is 6'x13'. Cabinets/counter would run the 13' length of the room

You could spend anywhere from 3k - 20k depending on what you want and what work you can do yourself.
