Looks like the pattern might cycle back around as we move into Christmas. Some kind of a cold shot looks pretty good for the Christmas time frame.

Any shot at moisture with that cold air? It’s been at least 30 hours since we’ve had measurable snowfall around here.

I'd like to hear or get a link to some good post analysis of the storm.

My biggest surprise was the duration of both cold air AND moisture. We're using trying to chase the last two hours (or less) of moisture with cold air. We had TWELVE!!

I can't believe we had that kind of cold air WITHOUT any upper Midwest snow pack!

I'm seeing 22 degree ensemble mean for 12:00 AM on the 24th on weather.us
Am I reading this correctly?

FWIW, I just walked out on my deck and we still have a few small patches of snow on it.

Colder than average temps. That's where the cold air is.

Probably want to hold the horses. The Euro has a nice cold atmospheric pattern for us. Waiting to see if we start seeing another low across the gulf near that time.

I'm not even thinking it's a possibility right now

but when some of the wiser weather people say cold snap with moisture... it makes one think

It all starts with having the cold available. Look back at this thread. We start saying, hey the NAO looks negative, we should get some cold. Then we start getting models throwing out some moisture with the cold.

So it's off to a good start at least, just me tempering any remote expectations for now.
