This is your reason for why on increasing totals. Short term models are trending upward. 3-4' for BR on this graphic. Precip is ending much sooner than NAMs representation though

At the end of the run still has precip falling so those totals might go up a little more than they show at the end of the run.

That little area NE of Baton Rouge, you know N. Livingston, Tangi, and into Mississippi might be getting in on a winter storm warning tonight. Based on the disco, that's the area every model dumps a good band of snow on.

LSU officials meeting now. We'll see what they decide. From what I gather they will cancel but meeting how to address finals for students, date grades are due, graduation, etc..

Even Shingleton gave in just now and said we will get snow. He is hanging on to "nothing like we saw in 2008"

The HRRR is typically pretty damn good short range. Read the LIX discussion from this afternoon and they mention it as one of the competing solutions. I believe the moisture it's producing with a slowly strengthening low down in the gulf, it's really a question of how well it handles our "warm nose".

I do think if we do start getting frozen stuff overnight, the highs for tomorrow are probably overdone as the ice will push the surface temps down to or below freezing.

Makes for an interesting night tonight.
