Irony:
Leave LA and what I thought would be a decent snow "storm". Come to Maryland where it was just supposed to be cold.
An inch of snow is on the ground with another 2-4 on the way.

It's official! There's a dusting of snow on the ground in River Ridge! (And after I looked at it, I went back inside. It's COLD!)

Troop B I-10 Closure Advisory:
I-10 East and West is now CLOSED through Metairie. Therefore, the entire I-10 is closed from the Orleans/Jefferson Parish line through to Gramercy.
Airline Hwy and/or Veterans Blvd are alternate routes. Use extreme caution while traveling through these areas because there is water on the roadways that may freeze with dropping temperatures.

I have had a few excuse me. Ds? I mean hard sleet. I've been in turnberry all day. I heard it came down real good by the epicurean though.

9 hours sleet here in Mobile..most has changed over to flurries and northern parts of the metro now getting light snow. Got right at 1 2/3 inches of sleet...everywhere in Mobile is white.

Raining ice in Metairie. Not quite flurries though.

I'm glad to see that pocket of moisture we were talking about came together finally.

Are you referring to the few hours of heavy sleet?

rds,
Explain "dry" snow to me. They mentioned it here but I don't understand it. Apparently, it doesn't make the roads dangerous because it doesn't stick to anything. Is that because it's so cold here it doesn't partially melt and freeze to surfaces and itself?

finally got a good look in the light when the wind died down... the precip in the light almost just stopped and kind of hung in the air... I'm betting those were snow flurries
