Looks like some more moisture is forming off the coast and heading to SELA. Just my amateur observation.
Looks like there is area of enhanced lift ("energy") off the coast that is enhancing precipitation from Houston over to Beaumont. Depending on movement, that could enhance precipitation across S. La this afternoon.

Doesn't matter how much precip is forming in the nw gulf. Radar clearly shows the entire system dropping south rather quickly thanks to high pressure building in north of us. It will continue to push all the moisture offshore as the day goes. I will admit i wasnt trying to hype the event but was warning it could of been catastrophic due to what models were showing. Guess that what I get for letting myself buy into them so much. This could end up a massive bust for everyone in south LA after all is said and done.
it was never going to be "catastrophic", just dangerous for travel/power outages and the hard freeze. And actually it does matter what's forming in the NW gulf cause thats whats going to head our way. The arctic push from the north moving quickly actually helps the chances for precip cause the models started to pick up on it moving slowly, which is what kept the bulk of the moisture to the north of the area. It could bust, but it's still on track as far as the timeline goes.

Thanks for your honesty. I will never take the advice of OT weathermen ever again. It has cost my company a lot of money. Thankfully I'm at the office and my folks are slowly starting to show up.

Bob Wagner from The NWS said this storm has not reached it's peak yet in central and south Louisiana that there is plenty of weather yet to come.

You really base your closings on the weather forecasts of people on a message board? Seriously?
Manager of the Year
Oh, & if I was your employee, I'd show up long enough to tell you to shove it up your arse.

You take business advice from anonymous strangers on the internet

File a claim with your insurance company for lost revenues and tell them you followed the advice of the OT Weathermen. You'll be sure to profit.

You don't have to trust an actual meteorologist at the NWS if you don't want to

No shite. Every weather person and blog out there was pretty much saying what you guys have said on here since yesterday. And nothing really has changed.
Some of these tards act like everyone was posting in this thread of a blizzard with 2 feet of snow when we woke up this morning.
btw GEAUXmedic, thanks for the updates and information.
