I'm more concerned in seeing my dog again.
I’ve always had this thing where I wish we could speak with our pets before they die. Like just have real talks in our last few days together. So thinking about running into those spirits again and having that ability seems real nice.

Again, barking up the wrong tree

But how can the believing family members enjoy heaven without all their family members, atheists included
There is no sadness, anger, or loneliness in Heaven. Heaven is pure joy and happiness. I don’t know how we will experience that without our loved ones present, I only have faith that it will happen.

nobody coming to terms with the fact this is a pipe dream and when we die we simply cease to exist in any form?
All I can say, is you better hope you’re right. If you’re not, you’re in for a world of hurt and I’m not playing those odds.

The fact you have four upvotes, and speak with an aire of authority, says volumes about the collective intelligence of this thread.
I speak from personal faith that has grown with me over the years. No one can tell you your personal faith is wrong. This is what I believe, you don’t have to and that’s ok!
I also believe I’ll see my dog Toby again in Heaven and he’ll be able to talk. There is joy in that belief. If I’m wrong, it’ll be proven at a point in time where there is no disappointment or hurt. Only joy.
So….

Yes. You also get to choose if you want to stay with your marriage partner in the afterlife. No pain, no depression. No sorrow. It’s a beautiful world of floating infinite joy feeling. You eventually cross over in the spiritual journal

Yes. I'm looking forward to all of those Sunday dinners again. Not many of my family left. So, yes. We will. And our pets will be there.

Also would like to be reunited with pets, more so than many relatives.
The verse about many mansions is encouraging as it implies retaining self- identity, preferences and autonomy. The Eastern religion's view of nirvana with all of us merged into one is not my idea of Heaven.
Would add the hope that there is some version of TD where joking and observations from different perspectives among distant compadres remains.

but you won’t care, as you’ll be utterly fixated on the worship of God.
A lot of people are reading this as if we will just constantly be at church or praying.
I feel like if that were the case, why wouldn't he just make us that way now? If that is what God really wanted, why make us play this game during life where we get to pick our fate essentially?
He could have just created us to be vessels of worship from the start.

The most likely thing is we die and our consciousness ceases. It will be like before you were conceived.
Ha! That was my mom's go to explanation. If you asked what she thought happens when you die she would say, "you go back to the same place you were before you were born". And she meant it.
She drove my Catholic sister nuts. My sister is a highly religious yet absolutely vile person.

No, because they are all in hell.

She will see herself in her prime as will any friends/husband
What if she had more than one husband? How does that work?
And what if her first husband remarried?
My wife's mother has been married three times. Two are dead already.
The first one is still alive and is married to someone else.
She really worries about this stuff. Really, really worries. To the point she is very depressed.
She is hard core Pentacostal Holiness.

Had a seance to talk to my uncle who died young after a nice run playing football for NC State.
He said St. Peter rejected him at the pearly gates because he didn't thank his lord and savior Jesus Christ when he was interviewed after his team won the 1988 Peach Bowl.
St. Peter said, "Who do you think caused Iowa to commit five first-half turnovers? And not one bit of thanks? Straight to Hell!"
