Not happening in most of our lifetimes. Sorry to disappoint.
I believe Jerruh Jones is the sole reason the Saints haven’t moved to San Antonio. Hard to say how long that will hold.

Fun fact:
The coldest Super Bowl ever played (outdoors) was in New Orleans.

This is why they’ll continue to keep hosting.

I was in Nola yesterday for the first time in a few years. Parked on the street, had lunch, our vehicle was still there when we got back. Didn't see any criminals. Saw one dude who looked sketchy and/or homeless. Lots of the aforementioned hipsters, and several groups of tourists on walking tours.

Chiefs, Cincy, Bears, Panthers, Jags, Tennessee, Bills are looking at building new stadiums, which means they get a Super Bowl, except probably buffalo. Then you have Atlanta, Miami, LA, SF and Minnesota about to host again, so it’ll be at minimum another 10 years, but 10-15 and then the new renovations they just completed will be outdated, and the dome will be even older. So it’s looking like the last.

It should be the place is an absolute shite hole of a city.

You're a fricking idiot. New Orleans is one of the top places for the Super Bowl due to the proximity of everything (dome, hotels, quarter, convention center, etc.). The only reason it took so long to come back was because the dome needed upgrading.

Yeah, hear tell the Aints are moving to San Antone.

know it’s always gonna be budget this or budget that but there comes a point where they need to just start saying, we are gonna run contractors 24/7 and just get all that stuff fixed
Is this what you do at your house? If so, I bet you’re in debt up to your eyeballs.

Imagine if this snowfall occurred the day before the SuperBowl?

Dome should be razed and a modern football stadium built on the site

This season the Sugar Bowl had to be postponed because of a terror attack. General lawlessness. Worst leadership imaginable. At some point, the big events are just going to stop coming.
I'm certainly no defender of New Orleans. But plenty of major cities have their own problems.
Just look at LA right now.
New Orleans has hosted the second-most Super Bowls behind Miami and that likely won't stop, unless the Saints leave. Which is always a possibility.

We will always be in the rotation.

This question/thread seems to get brought up all the time, and it gets dumber every single time it's asked.

Wut? NO has things that, say, Jacksonville can't offer?
Posted on 1/20/25 at 11:34 am to BigApple
NOLA will always be in a super bowl rotation
For all its shortcomings it is set up perfect for an event like that. Everything is pretty walkable or very short cab/uber and weather around super bowl time is generally pleasant

We said months ago it will never be ready in time
Certainly notice streets and sidewalks fricked up on Saturdays/Sundays and no one working

This is huge and something people don't think about. You can walk out of the dome and walk to your hotel, to restaurants, and other party places. It's not like that with many other stadiums.
Like AT&T stadium. Where are you going to stay? The Motel 6 across the street? One of the shitty places at I30 and 360? And that's before finding places to eat and drink.

I take it you have not been in the Superdome in the last year. The renovations done in the off-season last year are incredible.
