However, when I was younger, Chili's actually wasn't a bad place for what it was.

We used to go to Chili's just for the 2 for 1 drinks.

What's the name of that restaurant you like with all the goofy shite on the walls and the mozzarella sticks?

Household name had an episode on their podcast about this. Check it out if you like the Friday’s story.

Friday's has always been a poor man's Bennigan's. And we all know it.

TGIFridays in the Acadiana Mall used to be my jam.

Family used to go there at least once a week when it was there. I loved that damn TGI Friday’s. Chicken strip platter was my go to as a young boy

They aren't receiving anymore hate than I have for most chains.

We used to go to the one on Veterans Blvd in Metairie every other weekend in the mid/late 1970’s. The fried clam basket was great and dipping the French fries in the tartar sauce was a treat. You can’t even compare the current Friday’s to the old version.

The other restaurant in the regular rotation was House of Lee across the street.

I like their food more than Applebee’s. Don’t understand how Applebee’s is doing better.

Totally with you. Maybe the millennials on the OT only experienced the lame version that was restaurantized with freezer section skins and microwaved food.

The golden age was 80's to mid 90's. Better than Cadillac Cafe because the chicks were late 20's - early 30's yuppie types, not high mileage divorcees pushing 45. The main attraction was the bar. Food was secondary but the fried bar food was decent for what it was. Great atmosphere and clientele. Not at all trashy.

I really do miss the place and wish there was something like it today. Now it's like you're forced to go on Tinder because the bars out there are filled with trashy people. Yuppies aren't out drinking anymore. Tons of talent here in Orlando/Kissimmee but you can't just go to a TGIFs and see it on display.

Sad really. Not all chains are bad. I know places like Austin, Portland and New Orleans think so but Fridays was a different beast.

The one in Dallas was hands down the best. When I lived out there I remember seeing Dan Pastorini in there several times in the early 80's it was amazing and Dallas is even better than Orlando.

They don't still look like that? I haven't been in 20 years.

Pro-tip: it's all just frozen Hungry Man TV dinners anyway.
