It won't. It will always be behind almost every other state. Right there on par with Mississippi, Alabama, and West Virginia.

Congrats on the dog whistle, but we know what word you really want to use here.

It's like woody harrelson says in that movie, "Houma is what you make it."

Not a chance.
The state is the definition of politically fricked from the top to bottom.

We are the same age but I've been well aware of how shitty it is compared to many other places. I traveled for work for nearly a decade so I've been to almost every state. Despite what the OT says I've been many other places that I disliked more.
We'll probably consider bailing after my kid gets out of school. I'd just hate to move her after 7 years at the same school.

Louisiana has been spiraling downward for 40-50 years.

The best option would be to actively court Indian nationals to come and live here and set up their businesses here. Most of the HB-1 visas are taken by silicon valley.
These are the immigrants that you want!

I'll be moving out as soon as the youngest kid finishes High School. I'm strongly pushing my kids to leave and never come back.

Scruffy refuses to move back.
The political scene there is awful.
