No Louisiana does football and college baseball well but the others won't work. Nobody would attend.

Also don't know if the Hispanics here would support a local team, or if they're all diehards for the "old country's" national team.
Put some Hondurans on the team and you'd have a shite ton of local support.

I loved going to BR Kingfish games as a kid.

Alex Burrows was a former Kingfish player and he did this:

Game 7 OT winner against Blackhawks

And this

SCF game 2 OT winner against Bruins

Louisiana is a football state. That’s about all we support.

until what is now know as the SKC had to start swapping from bball to ice hockey on an almost nightly basis.

That never actually happened. The teams were not here at the same time. As soon as the city was awarded the basketball team the Brass were kicked out and folded. SMG did not want to hire the additional staffing or pay the overtime costs of having to do the constant conversions. Because the city wanted the NBA team so bad they were not going to charge them the costs of conversions so said they were going to put it on the Brass as a way to get them out.

In terms of Pelicans attendance, the 16.5k average is based on distributed tickets and not actual turnstile numbers.

All of this. It is what I stated a few pages back. The Arena never got to the point where the two were simultaneous tenants, but they did make it known they would not be the ones hiring a third shift in their operations to convert the building from one to the other.

No way the Brass could absorb that cost.

I don't know if there are enough pretentious young white guys in NOLA to support a MLS team.

Have you been to NOLA in the last 10 or so years?
Probably enough to support 2 MLS teams. Walk around in Bywater, Marigny, Warehouse District, Uptown. Hell, even Mid City and Arabi are infected.

The only one that seems remotely possible is NHL because of the arena already being there. I guess if Gayle got a wild hair and wanted a hockey team it could happen.

Attendance from the average fan obviously matters, but corporate money is really where it's at. You need sponsorship and companies buying suites/premium seating. Unfortunately we just don't have as many suitors in that department compared to Houston, Dallas, ATL, etc. Saints and LSU are always going to come first when it comes to that. The Pelicans probably struggle some as it is. They really need to start winning with Zion to gain some momentum.

Went to one BR Kingfish game at the Centroplex. It was loud AF but it was different. Quite honestly, I could not name you 7 NHL teams if my life depended on it. It’s not something I follow on a national level.

I root for the pelicans but they seem to screw up any talent they get by not putting pieces around stars like Chris Paul and AD. I’m afraid the NBA will leave New Orleans within ten years.

Orlando is more of a family trip destination and I think that includes NBA and MLS teams. MLS plays in the summer, I can't see a team in NOLA working.

Well, apparently you never go. Actual attendance is not great most nights.
