I had a professor in college say, "There is no one more Irish than a 3rd generation Boston Irish".

Exactly. OP is butt hurt over something and needs to look in the mirror to fix his problem.

I'm like 1/8th Italian from my mom's side and my dad's dad used to call me and my siblings dagos all the time growing up

I'm Jewish by blood and my wife's side has some German and I always tease her that her ancestors burned up mine.

How young are some of the posters here to say 5 “generations removed”

I have 3 close friends that are Italian. Everyone of them had their grandparents born in Italy and speak only Italian growing up. So they are pretty damn authentic still with how they were raised

What a weird thing to ponder about....

Only thing Italian about them is their last name, and their mom's spaghetti. Sounds silly, but I've always thought they were cringe how their whole personality is food and mobsters.

I don't think I've ever seen so much stupidity and ignorance in one post. Congratulations. Might be a new TD record.

Depends where you are.....and class of Italians. In certain pats if NJ and LI they certainly fit the stereotype. But, in New Orleans.....I don't find it as much. I've hung out with Italian types who are almost 100% in background and the only things Italian are the food and the last names.

I have a few Italian friends.. Do not mention WOP or DAGO... Also I have noticed one thing they all share,, They are all backstabbers.. Doesn't matter how long you have been friends.. 2 years or 47 years... Whoever is not in the room they will backstab.. And whoever is standing next to them is their best friend at the moment..

I'm Italian and I love when people call me wop, dago, goomba, etc. I've had the same friends from kindergarten and I'd take a bullet for them.

I don't own a pinstripe suit, I've seen the Godfather movies once, never saw the Sopranos and I've never been to any Italian parades.

Whatever Italians you know may just be a bunch of cocksuckers

As an Italian, it is all about food, family, and faith.

You eat
You drink
You hang out in family gatherings
You hang out at church

This is a key element to the people and how they were raised.

They teach us to shoot

They teach us the "Fear of God"

They teach us to fight

This is just a side effect for some
