Show up to work 5 minutes late. How they react is a litmus test. Stay positive, never negative.

Never fun setting up the cable trays to pull big red, and you will be the one lubing up the wire to get it through the camel backs

He may not have time after he finishes finding that box of 3-phase, 220-volt, 30-amp breakers.

On day 1 park in a reserved spot, find an empty office and kick back in a chair. Demand someone bring you coffee.

99% you will start off pulling wire. Maybe running some conduit. Don’t feel like a dummy if you don’t know how to do something.

DO NOT LIE AND SAY YOU CAN DO A JOB YOU CANNOT DO!

No one will expect you to be a real electrician, probably for years. They will put you working with someone who has some level of experience doing whatever job you’re assigned to.

Ignore LOTO. That stuff is for pussies. The only way to get used to current is to expose yourself to it and build tolerance.

First you'll have to learn their policies and safety procedures. Always wear your PPE!

Listen to all announcements. Obey all signage.

Ask questions if unsure.

In my experience you will be showing up 10 minutes before going on break and then going back to the shop for the right parts when not doing that.

Since it’s obvious you aren’t a certified electrician you’ll be fetching sky hooks and left handed wrenches for the person who is certified
