BR has a much more vibrant business community. Major U.

In Jackson, the burbs have been plundering the city for its businesses for years, and often with the legislature's help in the form of sales tax rebate programs. Jackson's leadership all too often wouldn't even return phone calls to those businesses as well.

Population of Jackson: 169,148

Population of Baton Rouge: 227,715

Not saying the math works out in BRs favor (I’m not doing the math), but comparing the number of homicides between cities without factoring population is dumb.

It’s sad. I’ve been following all the bullshite opiod regulations going on with the MS medical board. As much as I don’t really like Joel Bumgar, i applaud his effort to speak up and try to make them see they are hurting more than helping. And that whole telemedicine thing is just sad. We have so many people in rural areas that can benefit from something so simple as their employer offering telemedicine.

The 103 is actually all of EBRP which is about 450k. Granted the vast majority occurred in NBR

Negative. Have you been to Jackson? It’s like Africa moved east.

Then why does Baton Rouge have a higher crime rate than Jackson?

Our culcha is more violent BR still has more favorable demographics. BR is 40% white, much of which doesn't include St George and the unincorporated areas. Almost all white people have abandoned Jackson. It's around 15% cracka I think

I don't have anything against decent black people but it's disingenuous to act like there isn't a correlation between demographics and violent crime. It's the reason that BR has 100+ murders and Boise has 6 despite being similar in size.
