I left singer yesterday just as they ordered the mandatory evac. I’ve never seen/experienced anything like what I saw. Unbelievable scene

I’m guessing that’s smoke you’re seeing on radar. Seems like the fires are getting worse.

From what I’ve heard, they are. The “rain” didn’t do shite other than stir winds up that rekindled everything. This is far from over, unfortunately

Yeah the radar signal is definitely smoke. They got about a quarter of Inch earlier this afternoon but now it’s showing an inch that’s what makes me think the radar estimate is giving a false reading

Just watching the videos is frightening.

I’m pretty sure that weather radar isn’t calibrated right pick up smoke. There needs to be particulates in the air such as rain drops or in this case embers from fires.

This is an extremely small and insignifiant fire as far as wildfires go. It’s just new to us.

It is, but it is the world to those folks. It has been good to see the resources thrown at this one. If homes and businesses are lost, it won't be for lack of trying. Leadership and communication has even seemed good with this.

They did nothing for Lake Charles between Laura and Delta while they rather send billions to Ukraine. Think they give a frick about rural western Louisiana?

Then at what point do you call in more support and resources? It’s not insignificant to those residents who are losing their homes.
