Testing your Uric acid levels during a gout flare up is misleading because they drop during a flare up.

Gout is absolutely miserable. I have experienced it in my ankles a couple/few times a year since my early thirties. I had my first episode in my wrist couple weeks ago and it was excruciating. Far worse than in the ankles. I too would not wish gout on my worst enemies…

I got it once. It is painful. I ate a bunch of dried cherries and drank a lot of water for a few days and it went away. That can also be a preventative in some cases.

If that doesn't work, a doctor can prescribe some stuff that will.

It’s an autoimmune disease fairly easily diagnosed through blood work. Can be controlled by meds for the most part.

I’m sure there’s some real advice in here but I’m not fat and very active cycling running hiking. I used to get it in my toes but never thought about it as it wasnt so frequent and I’d just gut it out. Got it in my wrist two years ago and i thought it was broken. So apple cider vinegar, cherries (not the jarrred version) are some natural remedies. It builds calcium in your joint, very painful.. Take Advil but take a Tylenol for the pain.

Actually, calcium buildup is pseudo gout. Gout is a build up of uric acid.

But wait, I thought that was for fat people? I eat healthy, don’t drink and how low body fat.
My buddy got gout in his early 20's and was not fat at all. He was cheap AF and bought a bunch of fish and ate only fish for weeks. That was enough to do it.

I could be wrong but gout sounds old or fat.

I worked with a guy in his mid 20s who was in almost perfect physical condition (it was a hard labor job) and he wasn't supposed to eat red meat because it fricked up his gout. Gout happens when there is either too much or too little uric acid in the body.

Colchicine as prescribed. If it goes away, it's gout.

Everybody has different triggers. For me, it’s usually breads and dehydration. Over the hurricane I ate pizza three times in a week and cleared debris from the yard. Two days later a gout flare up.

It’s going to get worse with age and more frequent. Go get a prescription for allopurinol or the other medication.

I got it when I was thirty (from drinking whiskey). Asked my doctor to amputate my foot it hurt so bad. There is medicine which works well for it and it does not get better on its own. Most people have a trigger (some nuts, some salt, some red meat, me-whiskey). Gave up whiskey and no more gout.

So it just comes on spontaneosly? I’ve eaten shrimp and red meat forever and they never triggered anything.

Purge This works for me, double the normal dose like the direction say for a flare up and its gone in 24 hours. I don't take it regularly, I just keep some on hand in case
