I rarely ever lose things because I can track back in my head the last time I remember seeing the item...
Then I hit play and remember the next thing I did.
Then, I just go there and find what I've misplaced temporarily.
When people lose things and I try and help them the first thing I say is, "When was the last time you saw it?" And they give me this pissed off stare.
I don't understand.

I bet her naughty bag with lingerie and lube were in the trunk. She was getting the bag out so she could stash it in the house and accidentally left the keys in the trunk.

That's way too much work for me. Guys and their cars though. I think most women are messier with their cars. I hate washing my car. That's why I have a jeep now. It can stay dirty looking all the time and still look ok

Kid working as a summer runner at my former firm is given the senior partner's keys and three briefcases and was told "put everything in the trunk."
He put "everything" in the trunk, including the keys.

This reminds me of the many times I've gotten home from work only to see my wife's set of keys still in the front door.
