Or some folks don’t want to deal with the potential long term effects of COVID (which is happening across the population), work or live with immunocompromised folks who are at higher risk, and so on. It’s not just about death.
That said, I just find it funny when the majority of this board pretends they wouldn’t be at risk for a more severe COVID case. If majority of this board is from the South, statistically more than half could have complications.

I don’t give a damn if people get the shot or not, but I’m so tired of seeing this. I guarantee none of y’all did in-depth research for the vaccines given to your kids over the years (of yourselves). I do it so I can comfortably see family members who are at risk when it comes to Covid and so I can go back to concerts when they finally start coming back

Just because some people dont want to get a vaccine/flu shot or never taken a flu shot that makes them antivaxer?
Stop grouping them together. Most people just dont want to get it because they either never get the flu shot or they dont want to get a shot that's not FDA approved.
Maybe one day if youre still watching TV, youll get an ad saying "if you or a loved one have taken a Covid Vaccine, you may be at risk and entitled to financial compensation."

Which is why I didn’t play a shell game of attributing specific deaths to a cause, where it could be claimed they really died of something else.
23% more people died. They just didn’t swap the labels from other causes and call it COVID.
So unless your claim is COVID caused folks to be more reckless on a motorcycle, your sarcastic retort has no teeth.
BTW, before you want to knee jerk claim that it probably came from suicides as a result of the lockdowns....that percentage of excess deaths is so large, an additional 200k people could have died from suicide and it still wouldn’t start to displace the claimed COVID death tally.

fair enough, but it was a genuine question. I’m curious as to the social pressure and the media push for everyone to get vaccinated next year, in 2 years, or in 5 years when in all likelihood there is a COVID/flu cocktail vaccine.

I hate to be a broken record in these threads but where do you people get this shite from. It's like you read a FB or Twitter post and never engage your brain before repeating it.
We have a over full year of trial results for Phizer and Moderna and over 9 months for the J&J vaccine.
Did you miss the fact they have been giving all three of the vaccines for over 2 months en masse.
Phizer and Moderna both have enough data to file a BLA and get a Biologics License a few months later. They are both basically at the formality stage with the FDA at this point.
