Do you know what UFO means?

Replace UFO with alien spaceship if you want your title to make more sense.

Dont be that guy, nobody likes that guy. I'm pretty sure everyone knew what I meant and it made perfect sense to them and even you.

They wouldn't. There are no alien spacecraft visiting Earth. We are not special and would be of little interest to advanced species. They wouldn't spend but a few moments studying us if they even found us.

Doesn't add up. If aliens exist and are visiting us, they are certainly intentionally stealthy.

This may or may not be true. For argument's sake, we'll assume it is true.

It's beyond stupid to make this assumption and pass it off as a confident conclusion. What if life is exceedingly rare in the universe, or so dispersed that we are one of the only other intelligent civilizations within their reach?

Even if we are one of a million civilizations, all within their reach, what makes you think they wouldn't be interested in studying us? Look at how humans study all various forms of life on Earth. Completely inferior to us and we study them intensely and into perpetuity. Your determination is baselessly dismissive.

Because the stealth aircraft that we are testing are required to have them. Those UFOs - they are ours baw

I hate it when they drive with their flashers on while flying through comet trails.

Then they are even less likely to find us.

Humans don't have to travel any significant distance or invest much at all into studying the inferior species that surround us. Also, those inferior species you refer to, in many cases, like bacteria, fungus, etc. actually have an impact on us and our existence on this planet. Lastly, we would be primitive by comparison to any alien visitors able to get here. Our scientific tools that we use to gradually study organisms in our backyard would pale in comparison to theirs. They would have a nearly full understanding rather quickly. That would not require decades or centuries of visits.

You had to have gotten expelled from the wet blanket club for being that guy who takes it upon himself to be the “just keeping it real, folks”, guy.

Not really. The thread started off skeptical so I went with it. I doubt I change any minds or put a damper on anyone's enthusiasm about alien visitation.

[quote]Why is it they can fly millions of miles through space yet they always seem to crash when they get here? Why do they only go to rural deserted locations? Why not fly into NYC?[/quote

Very few (1?) stories of UFO crashes and UFOs have been seen over several major cities

If earthlings didn't notice, the fun would be gone. They obviously have a sense of humor. Why do human beings tantalize cats with a light?

My girlfriend actually saw this UFO situation in Holland Michigan back in the mid 90s. It was in the evening and she was down on the beach with her friends. Went running up to the house because they were scared shitless. She explained the weird lights and how they would quickly change position and elevation.

Tons of people saw it and reported it, and this is a conversation between the weather service and an air traffic guy. Air traffic guy starts out skeptical and then end up basically WTF.

Stealthy? If you could take an SR-71 blackbird back in time to WWI, would being "stealthy" even cross your mind? Think about it. Being spotted by the Red Baron would pose zero threat.
