The experts at WHO and CDC said, rather emphatically through multiple mediums, that masks were ineffective and in fact should not be worn at all. Fauci was one. Later, their ‘guidance’ was changed and even Fauci admitted it was a lie to begin with.

Because masks don't work. Someone forgot to tell JBE that quarantines don't make viruses go away. They only go away when there is a vaccine or herd immunity. Time nor masks will make them go away.
I get the flatten the curve deal to make sure hospitals weren't overwhelmed but not we've jumped into ridiculous land thinking cloth masks will stop a virus.

California, specifically LA County, has had a mask mandate longer than most anywhere in the country. They've recently seen a spike in cases and have started closing things again.
If masks were the end all be all, they'd be in much better shape right now.
