Water level is perfect in my crawfish pond. I’d say don’t do anything.

With regard to the Morganza spillway - they haven’t been wrong.

This...Some politically connected people own land in the Morganza that might get a little floodwater. So much better to risk a catastrophic levee collapse in NOLA.

Dude, we are wishcasting hurricanes now.

The time for doom and gloom of ORCS failing was weeks ago. TD forecasters already told me it would be overtopped, fail, and NOLA would be a salt water port by this time.

I still have two spots open for my snapper charter leaving off the St Charles docks on Friday.

How much do you add to the price of a pound for perfection?

The issue is by opening up more gates, we can lower the river level. Then if a storm surge comes UP the river, we have more room to hold the surge.

lol you are that idiot from the other thread. No matter how low you drain the river, it isn't going to reduce storm surge.... Do you know what storm surge is?

Flood the spillway that's what it was intended for.

Car you aren't very bright.

No one said it would reduce surge.

But I'd rather a 3 ft surge on top of a 13 ft water level instead of a 16 ft one.

I think we've passed the point where ruining more beaches to save more double wides makes sense.

You really think some farmers in Point Couppe have more political pull than all of New Orleans powerful... ?

Because too many politicians, their families, and their rich podnuah's have camps down there that they don't want flooded.

They have some real dumbasses on here as for as the ORCS and Morganza go. Their aptitude and comprehension capabilities are severely lacking.

You’d be pissing into the wind.

If storm surge comes up river, you still have all the water pushing downriver from the north. I’d say you can open Morganza fully and it would make no difference at alll. Your way overestimating what Morganza can do.

Right. Sure. And there aren’t any rich, powerful, or influential people downriver in NOLA.

No one actually knows WTF the river is going to do. I've been watching projections for the last three months and they all keep pushing the initial fall back every week.
