Where do you buy phones? I got a new iPhone in December and walked out of the AT&T store not spending a dime on it.

Att store charged me 1,200. I’m doing something wrong

I look forward to all the celebratory threads here in a few weeks when the stimulus checks start hitting accounts.

I hate society now. People are so trashy and I'm tired of paying for their little shits to go to school

Never interacted with them at all. Absolutely minded my own business.

You go through life without ever observing other people and their actions?

You didn't just observe. You judged them based on limited info and accused them of taking advantage of government assistance.

And the most expensive alcohol.
And 50 lbs of filet mignon.
This is bullshite.
It's posted here enough for everyone to know it's bullshite.
So it's ok for the rich to take advantage of the system when it benefits them but evil for the poor to do the same???
Really?

People have learned to game the system. Too much graft. Several years ago it was downright demoralizing how things played out, especially in poor school districts.

I know it used to be this bad...told to me by a counselor at an elementary school. Baby mamma showed up to register kids to school in a fancy car. Zero income. Daddy? Oh, he got zero income too. Don't get nothing from nowhere. Both self-unemployed, apparently. That's how they get everything for free.

Next family shows up. They're honest about their income. Momma works at a fast food restaurant and cleans houses on the side. Dad works for city sanitation department riding a fricking garbage truck and mows yards on the side. Both took time off from their hourly jobs to register kids for school. They don't have much, definitely on the poor side of the equation, but they had too much to qualify for free meals at the school. Administration at the school was always mad as hell about these kind of situations, but couldn't do anything about it.

Fast forward a few years, and federal guidelines changed to where everybody gets free meals in poor school districts. That's another soapbox for a different day.

I don’t worry about other people. It’s very easy to get caught these days because of technology and now they check people’s information a lot more than they used to. I wouldn’t risk getting caught. People have gotten jail time and had to pay back a whole lot more than they got by lying.

If you can see the screen & transaction info, you aren’t socially distancing far enough

Oh yes it is. I've been here long enough to know. It's posted a few times a year whenever some rich a-hole gets bent.
But no one can tell me why it's ok for the rich to game the system but not the poor?

I pay into the system so it's different when I game it.

No, it’s not (we can do this all day). It looks like you’ve been here long enough to really get yourself worked up. Maybe you should take a break.

This thread wasn’t about condemning the people in the story. It was an effort to explain why working taxpayers take advantage of government assistance when it’s available.
