I'm glad you think that.

In fact, I wouldn't mind it getting so unpopular in Oklahoma that land prices drop. I'm wanting a few hundred more acres but not at $4k/acre for land that doesn't even have water or power.

And as far as California, I've lived there. 1/3 mile to the beach.

Oklahoma is way better than California. In fact, I haven't stepped foot back there since I made a good ROI on commercial and residential real estate.

Didn’t Louisiana basically get ripped off giving away too much of its oil revenue to the federal government for years? Senator John Kennedy’s Website

Combine that with the fact that Louisiana has a history of electing the most corrupt governors imaginable,

It's boiled into the culture at the local level. If you talk to any of my dad's old friends and relatives, their 3 topics of conversation are:

1. Bitching about refs blowing a football game
2. Bitching about politics
3. Bragging about who they know down at city hall or the courthouse who can get their tickets thrown out

2 and 3 are closely linked.

And of course, they only vote for colorful characters who are related to someone they know, or to previous office holders.

Take yer boy John Bel Edwards - his family has passed the Tangipahoa Sheriff's office down as a family inheritance for 4 or 5 generations. And I think they've had a few police chiefs & state reps in there too.

Is there a such thing as a “rich” state filled with trashy people?

That video was put out by Together Louisiana, which has the same goals and ideology as groups like Louisiana Budget Project, the Bucket Brigade and Rise St James.

Louisiana still has a higher per capita gdp and household income than Alabama, despite their recent gains and our recent losses.

That’s not a good thing. That just means the corrupt politicians in Louisiana are staying rich while the decent people who would actually contribute to the state are leaving in droves
