Your opinion of their food and mine are a little different. It's fine, not exactly top notch.

No, you're just being an arse. It's top notch compared to other fast food choices while grabbing and going...and u know that

Stopping at that place adds a minimum 45 minutes to a drive.

"Adds"....you may stay as long as you like, but tanking up and grabbing food and restroom should ADD very little time compared to doing those things elsewhere. Jesus, why would u stay 45 minutes anywhere when traveling.

I went to the one by Leeds several times last month. Busy as hell but it flowed. Always able to find an empty spot at pump. Never had to wait behind someone at the cashier.

The Lafayette one off I-10/Louisiana Avenue is already in the land clearing phase. I’m hoping by Summer 2027 I’m not having to spend time making my own brisket anymore

I’ll never understand the hold this gas station has on people.

I have a friend who is a factory rep for an industrial equipment manufacturer whose territory is Texas, so he travels around the whole state.. His claim to fame is that he has taken a dump in every Buc-ees in the state of Texas. If he is traveling outside of Texas he will stop and take a dump in any Buc-ees he is close to. He laments the fact that with their expansion, him taking a dump in every Buc-ees would be very difficult.

The flood of 2016 saved Baton Rouge from the albatross that is buc ee's. They had contracts drawn up and ready to sign to put one on I12 at Millerville. Then that whole side of I12 was under 4+ feet of water.

The proposed Buc-ee’s property off Millerville did not flood. I’m not sure why people keep saying it did.

Wages will be amazing to those lucky enough to get hired there

Considering that area has long held 2 pay scales to keep them low, I bet they will be amazing for the area. Ever since my family has been involved with Ruston there’s been a student scale and a local scale with local people getting paid more for the same job. Goes back to at least the 1940’s.

I laughed at the idea and refused to take less for the work. Dad did blueprints and such as a non student veteran so he got paid local wage instead of student wage when he was in engineering school at Tech.

F’ those locals in the area. Other north Louisiana towns are nice, not Ruston.

I don't know what you guys are doing when ya'll stop at Buc-ee's, but I've never had to wait in long lines. I work in Texas, and I've been to 3 different locations, always in and out, just like any other gas station. I stop in Terrell every trip going and coming from work never had a problem waiting.

Upon opening a LA store, it will be in the top 10 percent of BBQ available in the state.

Importantly, it will be actually available, and not run out of food at 3 pm like a lot of local BBQ joints.

I remember when I was a wee lad my parents were driving back to baton rouge from Ellick on a Sunday night.

We stopped at the Canal gas station in Krotz Springs for some pop (soft drink) and gas.

When my Dad pressed the Dr.Pepper button on the machine a whole herd of mosquitos came out of the flap before the can did !

Sorry if I don't worship at the altar of the beaver (at least not that one) like you do. The sensationalism is gross.

This may be restricted to the times I pass Buccees its labor day weekend and it's the Foley location. Just the traffic getting in and out is terrible. I have told the family we will pass that bitch up everytime.

What the hell are you talking about, 2 scales? The university and city are 2 different entities if you are talking about student wages which have primarily been minimum wage.

For the life of me I cannot understand what gets middle aged white people so hyped up over a chain gas station.

Chopped brisket sandwich, old tyme root beer, and a nice solid shite in a clean restroom.
