Why is SE Louisiana so helpless with cold weather?

Everyone else in the surrounding areas has their shite together and we have roads closed another night. It's not like the temperatures we saw were any more extreme than our neighbors.

Maybe because about 75% of the red areas are elevated, and one of the non elevated stretches received more snow than anywhere else around us?

If by surrounding areas you mean Lafayette...LMAO! We have a stretch of I-49 in Opelousas shut down. Parts of 190 are shut down. People slipping and sliding all over the roads and into ditches. The I-210 and I-10 bridges in Lake Charles were shut down.
Things were hardly together over here. We just don't have the number of bridges and overpasses that SELA does.
