LA state government so incompetent?
As weird as it is, LA record retention is some of the best in the nation.
Seriously.

It's top heavy with administrative assistants and admin coordinators. Offices that receive 15 calls a day have at least five of a combination of them.

Louisiana is a crocked place. We actually believe that we can get a head by stealing from each other.

It was the French. We have too much French down here and not enough Germans.
Big government democrats, Huey P Long, and a population of people who want free shite

I was born in Baton Rouge 50 years ago. Went to school here and still live here. Love my family and LSU. But to be honest, when I drive west and crossover the Sabine River, I fantasize about how exciting it would be to live in Houston or in Texas in general.
Every state has its problems but the politics is always the most corrupt in Louisiana. I vote in every election in ascension parish and it’s the same ole bullshite. Crime and people living off of the dole. Lazy mofos. Traffic woes. Kids out of wedlock. It happens in every state but this state is last in most valued skills and education. It’s a damn shame.

Because black people still insist on voting for Democrats.

The civil service system which has lead to mass incompetence in the work force.
Absolute idiocracy.
Absolute idiocracy.

This. It was widely known eddie Edwards was a crook. He admitted it and said prove it. Yet LA voted him in again. Now I guess it was the easiest campaign ever against duke but regardless how did those two even earn nominations?
I love this state but at times embarrassed

From an outsiders point of view, too many natural resources and not enough educated voters.
Louisiana should be one of the most powerful states in the union. You control the mouth of the Mississippi and have a shite ton of oil and gas.

Black people control only a few local elections. Dumbass white people who claim to be so conservative are the ones putting people in office

This has got to be one of, if not the most, incompetent posts I have ever seen on TD, and I’ve seen a lot of stupid shite posted. Without the Civil Service system you’d be back in the days of the spoils system. That being said, it seems your username is appropriate.
The issue with incompetence in state government doesn’t lie with CS. Instead it’s the individual agencies who don’t hold their employees accountable.

Generations of statewide corruption?

Rank and file state employees have no incentive to do good work. They have not had raised in several years, and even when they got them annually they were 4% whether they were rated high or low.
Most appointed positions are filled by political appointees with no real skill other than being politically conected.
On top of that our legislators are by and large morons.
That said, I regularly work with LED, and most departments there function really well.

When I moved to SELA in 2008, my wife at the time was an FBI agent. The priority for every field office in the country was counter-terrorism. However, the priority for the NOLA field office was political corruption.
