Restaurants now asking before you order about peanut allergies and my kids school has special peanut allergy tables. I don't remember this being a thing until about 10 years ago?

I have two small kids, and I have never been asked this when dining out.

Because moms don't eat them while pregnant and they shield babies from them. Some genius like Dr. Spock made this recommendation, it's some expert's fault.

I'm from South Georgia, I literally do not know a single person that had nut allergies. You'd die.

Ya think they have peanut envy?

Find something else to worry about.

Dunno... I do know that my 8 year old is deathly allergic to them and we have to carry an Epi pen with us everywhere. She also sits at a special table at school. I hate it for her, but she is a champ about it. No one on either side of the family is allergic to peanuts. Only major allergy is my mother who is deathly allergic to shell fish

I read somewhere that if you expose peanut butter at an early age then the chances of them being allergic decreases

it was actually way more common 10 years ago when pedes were recommending parents not expose their kids to peanut butter until they were 2 or older

we learned that was what was causing the spike in peanut allergies, as they later you are exposed to something, the more likely you were to develop an allergy

pedes now recommend exposing your kids to peanuts at 1 and the allergies are declining

Jews figured it out

quote:

Israeli children suffer from peanut allergies at only one-tenth the rate of their Western counterparts with similar genetic backgrounds, and medical researchers think they know the reason: Eating Bamba, an iconic peanut-flavored snack considered a staple of Israeli childhood.

Pussy moms neither eat peanut butter while pregnant nor feed it to their kids when they are young for fear of peanut allergies.

We used to just let them die to weed out the weaker ones in order to advance the species. Now there are more of them bc people care about children for some reason.

It’s not nearly as lethal as Karen would want you to believe

quote:

But death by peanut is extremely rare. While estimates range from about 150 to 200 deaths a year from peanut allergies, reporting is spotty and not required, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officially documents only 13 deaths (including six adults) between 1996 and 2006.
