Asking why banks don’t celebrate Easter and Good Friday is like asking why police stations don’t celebrate George Floyd Day

No more holidays, get your lazy asses to work and pay down this debt, then we can talk about holidays.

Is it IT or lawn maintenance? Pick one. You do realize that different states in India often have different holidays, too right? Watch those crafty folk to see if they come in on Guru Purnima day on July 10th! The horror!

I use an online TV guide and they had one of the categories for the Ten Commandments listed as "Fantasy"... I thought that was interesting...

Easter is on a Sunday which is already a day off for most folks. It'd be nice to have an extra day off but ultimately IDGAF since I get a few floating holidays to take at my discretion.

there might be a subtext to Easter that might rub some people the wrong way, that doesn't exist with Christmas

It’s literally a state holiday in LA.

ETA: They not only recognize Good Friday but Easter Monday as public holidays.

I live in Berlin and have this Friday and Monday off. Just to add, it was also strange to me when I moved here to have so many religious holidays off. They have ones off that I hadn't even heard of before as work holidays.

What about the Mass of Christ, also known as Christmas?
Also, I don't acknowledge the secular/sacred distinction.

Agreed on Good Friday.

Most take it off anyway.

I lived in Malaysia where they celebrate Christian, Muslim, Hindu and government holidays. You get 19 holidays during the year. The different religious holidays are all good to everyone. Christians don't complain about Muslim holidays and vice versa. It is a day off.

We are doing it wrong.

It’s a work holiday for me.

You’re not being specific are you referring to government jobs?
