Responsible for more deaths than any other drug

Breaks up more families than any other drug

Have seen more people’s life spiral out of control more than any other drug

Only drug that can cause death stopping cold turkey for addicts.

Most of these stats are due to the fact that it’s legal and readily available. It’s also glorified in commercials of every show you watch. Why is that OT? Why is the drug allowed?

Because we tried making it illegal once and it resulted in the development of the mafia and organized crime that is still a stain and blight on our major cities today

Better question is why is anything someone decides to put inside their own body illegal?

Honestly, you could say a lot of similar points about fast food.

Freedom of choice. Let people kill themselves the way they want to, if they want to. We don't need the government to regulate even more of our day to day life.

Pretty sure us was readily available during prohibition but you had the added element of organized crime.

You think stopping heroin cold turkey wont kill you?

Rest of the points are hard to argue. Also, some people have no problem having a few drinks responsibly. Heroin and meth seem to cause a few functionality issues

Because prohibition was more dangerous than before, or after.

I declared being alcohol free a couple weeks ago. I was tested my first time last night. Went out to a brew pub with several people. I didn’t drink and no one even asked me why. It wasn’t hard. Felt much better leaving the pub, got much better sleep, and felt better this morning than if I had drank.

It hasn't really worked with most other drugs either but they're still illegal.
