I’ve never used one of these food delivery companies and haven’t even had pizza delivered in probably 5 years.screw dealing with all that. I live close enough to everything that I order to go, so I go get my own food

Call me old school but I just think its crazy to pay someone you don't know to go pick up your food.
Im not sure what it cost for the service, but whatever that percentage would be to that cost and the cost of your meal.. You are paying that much more for your meal all because you are too damn lazy to go get it yourself.

My brother who was an addict living out of his vehicle drove for door dash and other delivery services. If some of you saw the way that vehicle looked and its contents you would never order delivery again. Thankfully hes sober now. That being said one time recently when I was feeling lazy (and not thinking about my brother the driver) I ordered thru DD or grubhub. The driver showed up with her small dog running around the vehicle and barking. She said it made for good personal security.

I’m generally opposed to the notion. But in this case, I’d be on board.

Most places now seal the container

Well, did you report them, her/him/it?
I’ve seen some of these frickers and look nasty. I would at least try to clean up before doing that job.

Is the food still marked up when you do this?

Why not order from places that have sealed bags?

I don’t order it because it’s a ripoff and I know how to shop so I always have food in my house.
Posted on 1/3/23 at 7:11 pm to bobBoxer
DoorDash drivers can't see what you tipped them until after the food is dropped off. Also, most restaurants crimp seal the bags now. The ones that don't, staple them.
But if this makes you feel better about being broke, godspeed

Some places yes, some no. I only order when there is like a $10 off coupon, so it's generally cheaper.

don’t use door dash because the last time I did, my meal total was like $20. shite was nearly $40 after taxes, fees and a tip. Ain’t paying double the price for shite food
Same. I used the various delivery services back during Covid when restaurants weren’t seating or were still full retard with wait times. The marked up prices, fees and tip are ridiculous.
My cousin’s restaurant quit participating with delivery services because it wasn’t profitable.

Do people actually use them

Never order at a restaurant anywhere close to closing time either. Never.
See, I still think this is more of a meme than a reality, but if it is a widespread truth, it just makes me say the robots can’t get here fast enough so that all you nasty ungrateful frickers are unemployed. I’ll even tip a robot just to spite you.

Lol. It’s not a meme. I’ve seen it. Many who worked in the industry have. Most of those guys back of the house have criminal records They give zero shits. You are a nuisance. Nothing more to them.
Posted on 1/3/23 at 8:00 pm to roadGator
I get it. Which is why I also give zero shits about a “living wage” for them.
