Used to be able to get a battery for under $100. Now they're double that or more.

Replaced the battery in my kid's 2005 BMW 530 last night. Cost me $170 with tax at Autozone. I recently spent a little over $300 for trolling motor batteries for my boat earlier this year.

You're looking at the platinums at autozone for example.

Most 3 yr batteries are around $90-$130.

Big arse deep cycle batteries and things like that, sure. A car/truck battery? No way. You're wasting money buying premium stuff to crank small gas engines.

Maybe let your boyfriend do the shopping next time. Batteires don't cost that unless you're going the Optima Yellow/Red or equivalent route

Our government deemed lead smelting too dangerous so recycling or smelting plants moved to Mexico. Added cost to transport

They outchea. Autozone has the Platinum Duralasts that hit $200 with tax.

But definitely not necessary to spend that much. walmart has plenty for under $120

Just buy the gold batteries from O'Reilly and have them replaced for free every 5 years.

went to Costco three months ago and paid $64 each for two batteries for a dodge 3500 Ram. When did the price go up? Am I missing something?
