I don't need an article to tell me the sun came up this morning.

It may be a case where the property owners don't want to be annexed regardless if the city wants to do so.

I wonder why they wouldn't want to be annexed? Serious question. Of course I haven't seen John Delgado driving around knocking on doors over there. No yard signs. Maybe they don't know it's an option.

I typed that first but changed it. The man wants to be John...let him be John. I'm thinking about changing my name to Tyrone Jenkins.

Oh. Okay. Go ahead and assume what you want. Don't let facts interfere with your opinions.

Thanks for your permission.

You mean all the facts you presented showing that the City is actively talking to the property owners of Gardere? Wouldn't it be much easier for you to provide those facts than for me to prove a negative?

I didn't vote for either one of them last election and unfortunately I do live in Delgado's district.

Your references to homosexual acts makes me wonder if you've come out of the closet yet. Have you told your parents?

I didn't claim the city is doing that. Try again.

I'll think I'll just ignore you instead. Your 13,000 posts on this issue have not swayed me.

I have no intention of swaying you. My goal was to show how stupid your logic is on the topic, which I have done. Your entire premise is unsupportable from any intelligent standpoint.

You're just admitting you've failed in this thread and walking away. Bye, bye.

You would think that BR's enlightened visionaries would be courting Gardere so they can share their new urbanism and forward-thinking ideals with the people there. Since Kip and his team are so certain of the benefits of being in the BR city limits and so quick to sell that concept to revenue generators, why aren't they striving to offer those utopian benefits to the parish residents of Gardere to solve the terrible social ills that plague the area?

How can Kip sleep at night knowing he's abandoning those underserved victims without making a full-court press to deliver them into the glory that is the City of Baton Rouge?

Last time I checked those areas have to ASK to be annexed. Why don't you two go hand in hand to Gardere and take a door to door survey to gage their interest?

That is true. However you have to be completely naive or just flat out disingenuous if you don't think that many of BR's city leaders personally reached out to "encourage" the Hospital, Mall, etc. to request annexation. I seriously doubt they reached out to Gardere residents with the same vigor (if at all).

If you want to say that a unified BR is better for ALL persons/businesses in both the city limits and proposed St. George area, at least pretend that message is genuine by seeking to annex both the tax revenue generators and takers

Do you live in a million dollar mansion on the lake like him, all while proclaiming that St. George is filled with rich white people who want to leave the poor black people in Baton Rouge behind?

Kip Holden wouldn't go out and solicit any businesses to annex. That would be unethical. He sure as hell wouldn't lie about it on camera if he did so, either!
