"the right" celebrates it too, just not in the "so brave and courageous" manner

but rather in the more humorous "ah shucks I'm fat but fried food sure tastes good" kinda way

What do you have against freedom? If we're going to allow people to drink and potentially kill other people, why not let them smoke and potentially kill themselves?

Smoking has now become taboo (I'm a non-smoker(it's disgusting) so I have no skin in the game), but we've made it OK to be fat.

You should have kept the parentheses-inception running, coward.

They also feed their kids shite, let them play video games all day, spend all their time staring at screens, and think that some weekend travel ball will be enough.

They don’t glorify it, but they don’t help the situation privately.

Real freedom is an illusion. There are only shades of tyranny. Because of multiple layers of social safety nets, I pay for the poor choices of others against my will. If I refuse to pay, I am no longer "free".

That picture is sad and hilarious at the same time.

I blame travel ball for the obesity epidemic.

which is why I said "the right" celebrates it in a more humorous way

that kid doesn't become an internet sensation if he isn't fat

see also all the "this is peak male performance" memes

its not as eye roll inducing as calling a fat person brave, but there are a whole lot kids out there that think being the fat kid with a mullet is cool

Good lord. We can't even have an old fashioned "fatty" thread without it turning political.

Probably because second hand obesity doesn’t kill anyone else, unless they get suffocated while doing kinky stuff. Speaking of, too bad we can’t get the ladies addicted to sex instead of eating, what a wonderful world it would be.

To each their own

Until it negatively and significantly impacts me? (eg, Speed limits)

When rushed to ER for real emergency and rooms filled, medical staff stretched by patients health rooted in and plagued by diabetes, heart failure, high blood pressure, et al and all the complexities that come with the combinations of medicines and their side effects.

Not suggesting shaming or outlawing bad habits but am thinking positive nudges towards better health - tax breaks for health club membership, rewards for physical activities, health education, transparency and visibility to healthcare costs and linkage of unhealthy behaviors, etc.

20%!of people don’t need this - will be healthy most of the time

20% of people won’t change - will be unhealthy most of the time

60% of people are targets to positively nudge to better health

It really does suck. It's an echo chamber full of old dudes who want people to agree with them.

It's so nauseating that college kids don't even use this site anymore.

There's nothing like a rambling drunk post from a 20 year old dude who's mad he didn't get laid that night. Ah, simpler times
