That’s a whole lot of red in Alabama. Us Elmore County citizens are trying not to be fat asses.

How is MS not 100% red? That's Stingray country.

I don't think that Sweet Tea is a well-known traditional drink in New Orleans. That's something I've noticed by growing up in NOLA.
It's puzzling.
BUT, yes Sweet Tea is bad for you, but, it is delicious.

Yep it’s why places like NYC have some of the best restaurants in the world.

Not completely reserved for blacks, as Hispanics and Southern Whites also have horrible diets on a whole, but it’s a pretty difficult correlation to miss.
I’ve always said that we are eating the same high fat, high fuel foods we did many years ago when we needed it to work in the fields in the agrarian south, both blacks and whites alike, but we just aren’t working in the fields anymore, so of course we don’t burn it off, and honestly don’t need that kind of food in our diets anymore, or at least not with the frequency that most of us do in living off of it every day. Our southern staples come from a time when we needed those calories, and yet our lives have drastically changed since those days when they originated. We haven’t changed our eating habits though.

If you have ever waited tables and had to make the stuff yourself, you probably don’t drink it anymore haha

That's funny, because food in the North is practically unedible. SOooooo, there's that.

So New York and Chicago don’t have edible food?

You clearly are well traveled and know what you are talking about.

New York has the best pizza, cheesecake and sandwich I’ve ever had

Inedible.

Every Yankee I talk to says sweet tea is disgusting.
It is.
Adding a little sugar is one thing, but drinking tea-flavored simple syrup is disgusting.

I can't stand it. I love unsweetened though.
Posted on 4/23/18 at 10:58 am to MLCLyons
Exactly. Tea is supposed to be sweetened, not sweet.

You can get anything in the north you can get in the South.

Not entirely true, but you can get most things.
But saying that food in the north is "unedible" (not a word) is a statement that just reeks of ignorance.

Born and raised in New Orleans and cannot stand sweet tea. It's sickly sweet and the few times I've had it, I've needed water to get the taste out of my mouth. Unsweet all the way for me.
