Women are incentivized to leave marriages by the court. They get the kids and a monthly check.
And it’s not true
Which is why it shouldn’t be taught because there is no consistency to what is done in divorce court

Getting married is probably the most impactful decision you will make from a legal/financial standpoint. They should teach about prenups & the legal impact of what you're signing. Teach about how courts handle division of assets, alimony etc. Maybe bring in a Divorce Attorney to answer questions & take a field trip and sit in a Divorce Court.
I swear the OT only marries uneducated poor women. Stop sending your sons to Appalachia high school.

Especially teach men about the 10 year rule in some states.
Married for 10 years means alimony for life.
I think that's something a lot of men wish they'd learned in High School Marriage/Divorce 101.
That way he doesn't end up in Divorce Court saying "Wait, what ? She gets half of everything AND alimony for life ?".

Because high schools shouldn’t have to teach everything lazy arse parents won’t.

We are an adaptive species, eventually we’ll get it and no longer marry. School of hard knocks is the greatest teacher.

Half these kids can barely read by the time they graduate and this is what you think they should prioritize?
How about people just not be idiots who go off and marry the first person they come across that seems to tolerate them?

Because parents aren't well versed on Prenups, Contract Law etc.
That's like saying why teach Chemistry, Physics, Calculus because "what are parents for?"

Why is the fist post getting downvoted 27-1 ?
How is being educated/informed about marriage contracts, prenup agreements, divorce law etc. prior to getting married a bad thing ?
I feel like I'm in bizarro world, the Twilight Zone.

Most likely reason is that it’s retarded.

Cheaper to pay for hire prostitutes unless you have this great desire for children.

And a high school teacher is?
I mean she might be considering the average high school teacher seems to be divorced following an affair with her student(s)

Sounds like it would be real healthy for society to educate and teach kids the best way to get divorced and to prepare yourself for divorce. Tax dollars well spent normalizing the nature of divorce to young impressionable kids
Based on your post, Your title seems to be more accurate if you had said the legal and financial impacts of divorce

And a high school teacher is?
The same as with any other class.
There would be teachers educated on the subject, the same way that they have teachers educated in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics.

The school system doesn’t want to discourage marriage, and discussing those things in class would essentially discourage marriage.

I took Marriage and Family in high school way back in the 80’s as an easy elective. Don’t remember one thing about the course other than it was almost entirely made up of cute girls. One of the best classes I ever took.

Unfortunately in the public school system I am not so sure that is the case

Because they don’t even teach financial classes well really. They would have to start that first before they even talk about that.
