Why don’t home appliances last like they did in the 50’s/60’s?
It isn't that they don't last, we just have a throwaway culture these days. People used to call a repair man to fix appliances, now most people just go buy a new one

I use a 1970s tractor that has been in the family since it was new and has never had any major problems or repairs.
I'd say even the most cherry always shedded 4020 has had some serious work done on it by now. I think the difference is when our tractor goes down we fix it. Hell people trade cars when they need a brake job.

Probably wasn't used everyday for multiple hours its entire life. Cars get used a ton. Tractors get used here and there.

230,000 miles and 3,300 hours. You average 70 mph? No way.

Could cars/trucks be made to the same standards and last as long?
Only if they were built by John Deere

Adjust things on the tractor so that you can go 80 mph without having it running all-out, then ride it 20+ miles a day for a minimum of 5 years, and get back to us on how that goes.
If you took a car and idled around at around 7 mph for an hr or 2 a week, and changed the oil once a yr or so, it would likely run a hundred years easily. If you never worried about the heater and AC (just disconnected it), and your idea of "good condition" was keeping a thick coat of enamel on it, it would never go bad.
The tires would dry-rot before anything else.

I am surprised that no automaker hasn’t built a basic car like this. One that is simple and will last a long time.
