Had an item shipped to me on the 24th. 5 days later and I still haven't gotten any type of update on where the package is or when it will be arriving.....

Have you actually looked or are you complaining that they aren’t alerting you?

Don't call the postmaster and inquire about it. She will just call you racist and cuss you out.

One time I was waiting for a package and was keeping an eye on the tracking on my phone. I was in the living room all day which is near the front door.

All of a sudden I get a tracking update which said something like they tried to drop it off, but nobody answered the door and that I’d have to go to the post office to pick it up.

I was like WTF? I was sitting right there. Nobody knocked on the door. I even saw the mail truck driving down the street. They never stopped at my house. The mail person was just being lazy.

USPS sucks.

Had this happen to the last 3 shipped USPS. They will most likely show up. I've had some labeled as lost on amazon, and after the replacement shows up, the original shows up as well.

It definitely doesn’t help them locate lost packages, of which there are many.

And any updates when you looked? If not, yeah we have a problem. I can’t remember the last time I sent a package through the USPS or had one shipped so I don’t have any experience with their tracking.

If it’s anything like a normal post office though....

Did you buy the item on amazon?

They are delaying shipments and when that happens UPS will not update until it actually ships.

I bought an item from amazon that isn’t going to arrive until late July. UPS says it’s “shipped” but there are no updates.

What it really means is that there has been a label created but UPS has yet to pick it up.

No. It wasn't an item from Amazon. Just seems to be a recurring issue I experience any time the USPS is involved

Happens all the time. Ive had it happen to me on multiple occasions. Luckily they just dropped it off a day or so later and i didn't have to go up to the USPS store to get it.

I always figured they "attempted delivery" to just help their stats.

I had a package that seemed to have gotten lost in transit somewhere.

Emailed the USPS customer service to ask about it. Sent the email 14-ish days after the item had shipped, which was a week after it was supposed to have been delivered.

Last tracking updates were departing Memphis on the 12th, then four days of date changes of "in transit to next destination."

After sending the email, it was miraculously at my local post office the next morning and delivered that very day.

I'm curious to see if my next two packages, one coming through Memphis, actually make it on time.

Check out the table on this page to decided when you should be concerned.

This used to happen all the time when our regular mail lady was off or on vacation.

You can initiate a search request but it has to be 7 days after the mail date.

This is what happens when control/funding is driven from the top and not from the consumer.

In general my experience with the USPS outside of their tracking system has been fine, but their online tracker is basically useless.
