Why does this ad with the Mom driving and the Dad riding shotgun bother me?

Don't know really why this commercial grinds me more than all the other "socially conscience" commercials out there. It really shouldn't, nice family enjoying their child laughing as they drive.
I feel bad for the male actor having to appear very beta-like in his big commercial.

I drive my car. My wife drives her car. We swap out every few hours on road trips. If you can't handle being in the car when your wife drives, you're insecure as frick.

Also my girlfriend really likes driving, especially sports cars so I let her drive my car sometimes because I know she enjoys it.

I enjoy the ride, listen to music and rarely get bothered. When I hear friends talking about road rage in this town, I figure it's a character flaw.
