Why does the DOW plane make a Texas/BR/Michigan/Philly loop every day?

Because they have enough employee travel between their main sites and HQs to put employees on it vs. paying for charter and commercial flights.

It’s the Dow shuttle. They have 2 of them. I see it just about everyday either coming into or leave lake Jackson in the morning and visa versa in the evening. They transport people to meetings, training, etc. Dow employees can also take their families on it if there is room. I know a few people who wanted to visit New Orleans for the weekend, so they took the family on it on way back to BR on Friday evening and jumped on it Monday morning to head back to lake Jackson.

I’ve been on the jet a few times for a meeting at their Freeport facility and back to BR that afternoon. Pretty regular for Dow guys that have to travel to corporate.

1 - Cheaper than paying for commercial tickets with as many as they have that fly to those places each day.

2 - more cost effective from a travel downtime point.

3 - Likely saves money on hotels and food, if you can fly from one location to another and then back the same day.

4 - They go'tta burn that excess money somehow. Bank vaults get full. Bankers complain, "We don't have enough space to store Dow's money. Lordy, Lordy, what will we do?"
