Here's a question. Even if this is stupid and the name is definitely not offensive, who gives a frick about the colloquial name of a disease?

Monkeypox is a nickname. If they change it dolphinpox or bat measles, how does that affect us in anyway?

As usual, racist Progressives are associating the word "Monkey" with blacks. Simple as that.

Exactly. Thinking this is actually happening and wanting to rename it because of that is the only actual racism in this.

Well if it wasn’t contracted from flinging poo then it would be called something else.

New York City officials are demanding the name of the disease be changed immediately.

This type of person is ridiculously dumb.

Lets just change the name of cancer while we are at it. The cancer demographic will be wiped out!

They are named this way to shed a little light on the viruses origins or where it was first discovered.

why not?

we’ve changed the definition of inflation, women, insurrection, transitory, and a recession. might as well rename monkey pox to something like, “totally not just a gay STD, seriously everyone panic”

Isn't that what got Howard Cosell fired from MNF?

"That little monkey's got the pox, doesn't he?"

The idea of taking offense to all of these types of names only makes things worse. Now everybody knows what they are alluding to.

I say let’s just change the name in which we call “monkeys”. Then nobody can ever use the word “monkey”. While we are at it we need to change all the Latin names that contain “Nigra” in them.

P.s. We should also remove the word “black” from our vocabulary. We can then rename that color scheme to something else that black people vote on.

Your people obviously care because they are trying to change it.

FWIW, I never associated monkeypox with blacks. I associated monkeypox with figs

Don't forget we just changed the definition of "vaccine" too in order to promote other Progressive causes.
