I have lived for a year in Texas, Florida and even the coast of Mississippi.
Louisiana is a shtt hole. The weather sucks, schools suck, community usually even sucks outside of LSU football games and Mardi Gras.
The only reason I stay here is because of money. Easy access to decent-paying jobs in my industry.

In 1991 Louisiana was trying to make gambling legal. The majority of voters were against it.
It's really mind blowing when you think about it.
Back then, all that revenue from ONE proposed casino sounded like a major fix for the state. And after TWENTY-FOUR casinos built, a state lottery, video poker, etc, WE SEEM IN NO BETTER SHAPE!!!

Yeah, JBE, the pro-gun anti-choice Dem. Conservatives have fricked this state up for decades, but they like being on top, and don’t really GAF abt whether the State benefits. And it will continue bc the voters will keep voting for the same old bullshite.

So you think those issues are whats hurting LA economy?
WTF

Nah, that’s just part of the conservative package to distract you with social issues while doing nothing positive to benefit the citizens. Same with trans girls in sports, 10 commandments in schools, anti-vax, etc. The main problem is education, and the never ending tax giveaways to out of state companies.

I've been to 40 states and lived in 4.
It's the people.
I'm from and live in a major metropolitan area in a bordering state. We have a larger population in this metropolitan area than the entire state of La. - almost double.
I can tell when I see folks from La. who are out-of-towners just by their clothes and general demeanor. Y'all stick out like a sore thumb in my neighborhood.
Great food though...

Because formal metrics measure things that actually don't matter when all is said and done
This is only said by folks who either don't have the things measured and are too ignorant to know any better, or have them and fully take them for granted.
