This. Posting from restaurant bar across the street from my hotel. 30 min in and everyone knows I’m LSU Fan/Alum.

It seems strange to me that it is uncouth and taboo to eat in a restaurant or go to a movie by yourself, but totally normal to have said food/movie delivered to you by a driver.

Screw convention. Just be you. Norms are for people who have no confidence

Rode motorcycle alone and had a coffee at Starbucks alone. Was wonderful.

I go places by myself all the time and I never feel that way. Going out to dinner by myself is one of my favorite activities.

One of the last straws that ended the marriage was discovering that I cannot have children.

As for music, it’s the only excuse I get to see my friends these days, but beyond that, I get little enjoyment from it. I’ve got serious writers block. I haven’t written a decent new song in over a year. With that said, literally the only thing in my life that gives me any purpose or anything to look forward to right now is finishing recording this damn album.

I never go to the movies anymore. Having said that if I really want to see something I’d rather go alone.

I will not go out to a bar by myself (like a club/bar scene

Why not? I get to travel to L.A. a decent amount and they get DJs/bands in bars/clubs I'll never otherwise get to see.. I'm taking advantage of that.

I was pulled out of a line by a bouncer while waiting to get into one DJ's show last time I was there and he looked at me like I had 3 heads when he asked where the rest of my party was to skip the line with me

You have any amount of free time/vacation? You needa get out in nature alone for a week. Amazing what it’ll do

I feel great when I go on vacation, but nothing has changed when I get back. It’s fun running away from my life, but no matter how great the chase, I always have to come home and face reality.

Meh. Reality changes when you almost die on the side of a mountain from altitude sickness and hypothermia. Makes the mountain of emails seem insignificant

I'm not advocating that you go out and almost die of course, but some time out west will really recalibrate you. I went for the first time last month and I'll be doing it annually from now on

Already did that one. 2 winters ago, I almost died of altitude sickness and the flu on a mountain in Colorado.

I don’t give a shite about the work emails. Work is the least of my problems.

Probably because you’ve never matured into a functioning adult man would be my guess.

Pro tip - count on it being 50 degrees colder than the forecast said when you left the house

Your reality is pretty heavy, man.

As I said in a previous reply, I hope you are seeing a therapist. Your situation is what they are there for.
