90% of people at places like EJ arent even breaking probably 100k. To make serious money (like 250+) you have to be in private wealth management. You aren't getting super wealthy managing 401k's.

None of that is to say you can't make a good living at EJ, NWM, and such.

Because you retards that live in Livingston Parish working for some metal fab shop think you know about finance when in reality you don't know shite. I know and work with these people every day.

One of these is clearly not like the other, but the fact that you don't seem to know this tells me plenty about you.

Depends on the firm, but even someone working at a place like EJ can bring in $250k/yr with $60MM AUM.

Yeah, it is a substantial income whether this site wants to act like it is or not.

There are plenty of FAs at NWM that clear $250k per year and Directors that clear $1M.

It ain’t for everybody but the 10% that can stick with it and make a career out of it do very well.

You have to really know somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody, ect, ect, ect to really have a fair shot at making it though.

I think the question is who the frick gives their money to these people to invest?

A company like EJ is not as top heavy as a MerrillLynch, but making excellent money for you and your family is much more attainable at a retail shop like that than it is as Merrill.

I had a dipshit friend of a friend ask for a meeting. I gave it to him because I'm a sucker. He didn't know what a fiduciary duty was. I had to awkwardly tell him I wasn't interested like 5 times after that.

My point was that you aren't going to go anywhere at a retail firm like EJ calling all of your broke 25 year old friends to open a Roth IRA.

That awkward attempt to "catch up" is much more in the wheelhouse of NW Mutual.

Edward Jones offices are located in strip malls, they have a lower payout grid and their products on their platform are terrible. Merrill Lynch has offices in top locations, have higher payout ratios and you have access to top products.

NW Mutual is a top “Mutual Company” so it’s slightly different type of financial firm

They don’t just let any Joe Blow off the street invest your money. You have to pass a series of very very difficult (damn near impossible) tests.

Now selling insurance is a different story.
