I don't even know what that is. I don't sell any tangible product, I sell my mind

What the company doesn't do is "give you a blank piece of paper and MAKE you write down everyone you know." They don't give a shite if you sell or not, they have a million applicants.

This is actually exactly what they do. Most new reps are subsidized for their first 90-180 days to my knowledge. One of the first steps I have heard from multiple people is they had to make a call list of 100 people they know, call on them, and then ask for referrals on that call.

Their fees are pretty much the highest out there. That's common knowledge.

Upset? I’m just being honest. EJ is a bottom of the barrel b/d. Their products are expensive, they have a weird culture, they are highly restrictive of what can be held/sold on their platforms and their offices are located next to check cashing places

I’ve looked into EJ for financial management and the fees were ridiculous. I think it was 1%/yr for everything under management and they want you in their products. I’m a low fee passed be investing guy and have done just fine.

1% management is WELL below average for retail brokers.

I guess everyone in this thread doesn't understand the target market for these shops. If you're a financially savvy, well disciplined investor, what do you need EJ for in the first place? EJ and others exist because the typical retail investor is AWFUL managing their own assets. That won't change anytime soon either.

To my knowledge, the only difference between EJ and LPL or Raymond James is some of the restrictions on products at EJ. My buddy can't sell marijuana stocks or leveraged ETFs, but most things are fair game. Anything a mom and pop would need is there.

You're smarter than that.

Schwab/Vanguard/Fidelity clients =/= EJ clients.

I can use Vanguard. My parents need EJ.

The EJ rep was probably like “yea it’s only a 1% management fee” when in reality it’s 1.75% per year.
