A better question would be why to you care where people store their butter.

Same here, I've had the same pack of 4 sticks for probably around 2 years. I did use a tiny dab this morning though to fry my eggs. I usually just use olive oil.

You leave crumbs all on the stick?

Yes, it then is the designated toast stick. If I need butter for something else, I grab another stick. I can't stand spreading butter on toast with a damn butter knife

That's because you should have soft, room temp butter for your toast.

We buy Kerrygold from Costco. Freeze blocks that aren't in use, and put a block out in a covered dish by our stove. I have yet to have a spoilage issue in 5+ years, and butter is so much easier to work with. I def can't go back to leaving my butter in the fridge.

We go through a block every 2 weeks or so. I usually do a little butter + avocado oil for greasing pans, and we usually do pancakes every Saturday, where we out butter on top of pancakes.

Do you never cook?

I like cold ketchup but it’s fine to keep it in the pantry

I do cook, but rarely use butter. I know, it’s weird. Like I said, olive oil or PAM for the cast iron and just don’t put much butter on stuff.

I just checked, I’m down to 1.5 sticks of the 4 stick pack got last year.

The expiration date is May 2019 and I used some this morning. I’m throwing it away.

I distinctly remember this pack of butter because my mom bought me a little ‘care package’ of groceries when I moved into this place amd that was January 2019.

I assume you live alone and don’t cook very often.

We keep a half stick on the counter. Much easier to put butter on toast.

Yes, I live along and only cook about once a week, usually a big crock pot stew, roast, chicken dish, etc.

Eggs on weekends.

Friend,

We agree with you. We keep several pounds of butter in the refrigerator, but a stick is always kept on the counter. I’ve had a stick of butter out for weeks at a time. No one ever became sick after eating nor did I notice an unusual taste as a result.

Yours,
