This is far from the case. Most of us live in Birmingham because it's NOT Atlanta, New Orleans, or Nashville. There's just enough going on here to keep a person busy at night and on the weekends. If you want to low profile with the wife and kids in the suburbs, you can do that too. Food is great (not New Orleans, but better than average). Breweries are great. We have more lakes within an hour of Birmingham than just about any other major city in the south.

As someone that's lived/worked in Illinois, Ohio, Indiana Maryland and Pennsylvania, I was astonished at the amount of trashy white people I saw. I can't believe the South catches any grief compared to those states!

What is even funnier (or sad) is most of the Corndogs in this thread posting about Bama fail to even mention Auburn even though they are SEC West rivals in Alabama as well and were more of a rival to LSU than Bama for our Dubose, fRan, and Shula dark period.
