I moved to LA (Lower Alabama) 11 years ago from Baton Rouge. Best decision I’ve made in my life so far.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. At least they aren't squandering tax payer money away to pay these billionaire owners.

This is far from the case. Most of us live in Birmingham because it's NOT Atlanta, New Orleans, or Nashville.
doesn’t it have all of the crime of these places?

Well let me recall

Bluebonnet place apartments in college
College drive in College where my truck was stolen.
On Boyd St where I was robbed of my wallet and phone at gun point.
Finally settled off Government St near Jefferson where I would hear gun shots regularly at night.

It was enough for me to bail.

I don't hate on Bama. In fact, my mother was from rural S Al (Covington Cty), father from rural N. La. My Bama cousins were never able to break out, they are a mess. Meth, govt handouts, trailers, the works.

I just know I couldn't live in S Al, nothing there the Fl panhandle doesn't have. I have family in Niceville and PCB, so the beach is covered.

On the other hand, I'm guessing I'd really like N Alabama, as long as it's hilly. I just don't know anything about it..do they have parks I can ride my mountainbike it, or ATV trails, any trout fishing, whitewater paddling?

Yes to all except abundant trout. There are some but pretty sparse. Hell, you can get all of that in Birmingham.

I live here, but in Mobile which used to be nice. Huntsville still is. Watch the political commercials and you will get it. They might as well be in klan uniforms burning crosses and hanging people in them.

Mississippi has a history just as bad but just 50% less hateful. A lot of good people here but hate is a bigger tradition here than war eagle or bamma jamma (whatever the frick it’s called)

I have lived my whole life in the South including Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Bama. All have positives and negatives, but bama is definitely that state that hates the most

I had the misfortune to have to spend six weeks in that hell hole a few years ago(my son was in ICU there for that long,)
it was like a sentence, the most disgusting, filthy, backwoods, and trashy place that I could have imagined

I don't think politicians or the klan are who is killing people in Mobile.
