Yeah it’s not the best state by far, but compared to its neighbors it’s not that bad tbh.

1). Plenty of outdoorsy stuff to do

2). You are near a beach, gulf shores isn’t that bad and hell you can just go to the Florida Panhandle

3). Honestly, Birmingham is underrated, if you don’t want to deal with Atlanta’s bull crap and Nashville is an overpriced/overrated cesspit of a city

4). Omg Montgomery is a war zone…Agree, but Tn has Memphis, Georgia has Macon and south Atlanta, Mississippi has Mississippi

5). No professional sports team but you have a platinum college football team and if they fail, Auburn might take the totem

6). Omg it’s redneck!!!Okay, so is Tennessee, Northern Georgia, Mississippi, Florida Panhandle, and every area outside a major city…Your point?

Alabama is awesome, you just have to deal with a lot of the people that live in Alabama.

ABC stores and Baptists

ETA: it ain't that bad, it's just fun to joke about. Louisiana has just as many slack jawed folks as bama.

Alabama is really beautiful. Because a bunch of dumb Louisiana baws hate on it to feel better about living in the worst state in the union, doesn’t make it bad.

Alabama is easily a better state than Louisiana these days. It's not even really that close anymore.

Alabama is a better state than Georgia and mississippi. It’s not even debatable

If you aren’t a gump, this isn’t a pro.

The fans are what make it intolerable

But Alabama isn’t a bad place to live if you can get over that

I've got no idea. We just moved to Tuscaloosa and love it. The traffic is nothing relative to where we used to live in Jefferson Parish and Orleans, it's clean and kept up, and the people are wonderful.

The day we were moving in we had our neighbors come over and introduce themselves and bring us gifts - I thought that shite only happened in the movies. As an LSU alum, they've almost got me wanting to say "ROLL TIDE" - almost.

We stayed in Hoover for two weeks after evacuating for Hurricane Ida.

We didn't want to go back to NOLA. At all.

We evacuated from NOLA to Mountain Brook for Ida.

Hands down an awesome experience. Museums were great, lots of neighborhood parks that put anything that NOLA has to shame.

It's at the top of our list for evacuations now and is a serious contender to pack up and move the family to.

LOL, that is what everyone says about each other states that live in the south.
Like saying Louisiana is a third world country, MS is backwoods, etc.

People love to hate and complain.

If it brings you peace and happiness then it’s a good place to live.
Personally I couldn’t live in Alabama just for the amount of University of Alabama I would have to deal with. Seeing it, hearing about it, reading about it. No thanks!

Underrated state but economics, medical care and demographics will hold it back.

Don’t come at me with UAB med either.
