It's sad how misguided people now worship Santa. Let's focus on the reason for the season - Elf on the Shelf!

I don't think you'll find many people opposed to the idea of Santa. Maybe a few outliers but nobody takes them seriously.

It's about preserving the innocence and magic of childhood. It's about having fun.

Many things are steeped in tradition. That includes the celebration of the acts and generosity of St. Nicholas towards children at Christmas.

Children will lose their innocence all too soon as it is. Let the enjoy their childhood while they can. As they age and begin to think more abstractly they start figuring things out. It is a magical time of the year for them, and quite frankly a magical time for parents as well. While my children are now both in their latter 20's, on their own, and will eventually have children of their own, I still fondly remember the Christmas seasons when they were young. Those memories are cherished forever.

If you have children, you might be more prone to understand that.

Why Do We Tell Kids This Nonsense About Santa?
People who fuss about Black Santa are the most clueless and self-offended of them all.

Santa is literally a narrative.

This ... sometimes I wonder how tthis country defeated Germany ... op thinks santa is nonsensical, but esp so now that he's not white ... people like santa because of the IDEA ...

While I'm not going to say Jesus wasn't real, my HOT TAKE for this thread is that there is actually more physical evidence for the existence of St. Nicholas than there is for Jesus

By its very definition faith requires no physical evidence.

You do know you can control what you read and want to let have an impact on the way you think, right? Of all the bs that liberals spew, the last thing I think about with them is their interpretation of Santa. Don't sweat the small stuff bigfella.

When I was a kid, as far back as I can remember, I always wondered why Santa didn't bring gifts to poor people I started questioning whether he was real or not when I was young... Plus I went to public school and in 1st, 2nd grade kids telling you "my momma even told me Santa aint real and if he is then why he didn't bring me nothing?". For some reason I will never forget that kid telling me that, but I just played along with it, with my parents because I thought that once they didn't think you believe in Santa the presents stopped so I was like "ill believe in him as long as they want me to"..

Then one day my dad told me "you know how you always ask all those questions that we have to say "just because" to? Well that's because Santa isn't real" and I am pretty sure he realized I knew already but then he said "yeah and that goes for the Easter Bunny & tooth fairy as well in case you didn't figure that out already". And I asked him "well do I still get $1 for losing my teeth" and he pretty much said "whats the point"?

Then you start thinking "well if they can tell me this thing about Santa Claus then what else are they not telling me?".

With that said, this dude I became friends with in high school told me the Christmas of his 9th grade year was the first Christmas he didn't believe in Santa. Told me he refused to believe it was not true, he ended up asking his parents and they told him they thought he already knew.

sounds like you were overthinking it. I asked my oldest son if it was fun while it lasted and would he like to get in on it with his younger siblings and he was all over it. It's just a fun, innocent thing to do and the kids love it.

So you think it's ok to break poor kids hearts when Santa doesn't bring them nice stuff like the rich kids? That's great, teach kids early how unfair life is?

Jesus isn't real and it's proven that multiple religions before Christianity had the same story.

Actually, most people believe Jesus existed (historians, etc.), but it's whether people believed he was divine in any way where there are differences. Even Einstein (who was Jewish and said he could be called agnostic) believed in the existence of Jesus and thought he said things in a way that they had never been stated before. That doesn't mean everything about Jesus was real because Einstein was a human like the rest of us, but it's very interesting.

As for Santa, I wish more people would lie to me now like they did back then about Santa. Those were some of the funnest and happiest times. I found out and I got over it. Still great memories...to each his own.
