Why can’t stores order direct from the manufacturers?

Could say this about a ton of products. Why do we need car dealerships?

I think the stock answer is “so the state can get their cut.”

Kind of like the state owned and run liquor stores in other states like Pennsylvania.

To save you from the evils of alcohol. The government is here to make sure you don’t go to hell one sip at a time.

Pay not attention to your added taxes

Because the manufacturers dont want to deal with 100,000 little mom and pop gas stations and liquor stores

They would rather deal with just a handful of distributors

Yes, most of them would naturally follow that path, as do most other consumer products. So, why must we have a state mandate on it, just for alcohol?

Well this is just untrue. You just have to pay with cash and use burner phones.

Let me correct myself....it's illegal to buy at the landing..you can do it but it's risky

I was more being tongue in cheek as you can use the same methods to buy alcohol from a non registered brewer or distiller

It's not just alcohol...you ever tried to go buy your chicken straight from Tyson?

Nope...it delivered to the distributors then delivered to stores/restaurants
